Private Equity Firms in the Nordic Region

In the last 10 years private equity firms headquartered in the Nordic region have raised over $60 billion in aggregate capital. Swedish private equity firms contributed over 60% of this, whilst Norwegian firms raised around 13% and capital raised by Danish and Finnish firms account for just over 10% each.

The majority of fund managers based in the Nordic region primarily focus on venture investments, with over half of Nordic private equity firms targeting this type of investment. Fund managers raising buyout funds account for over 30% of the regions total.

With over $14 billion raised in the last 10 years, EQT Partners is among the largest private equity firms based in Sweden.  Nordic Capital is also headquartered in Sweden, and in the last 10 years it has raised over $10 billion in capital. Another large Swedish private equity firm is Altor Equity Partners, it has raised almost $5 billion in the last 10 years. CapMan Capital Management is among the largest Nordic private equity firm based outside of Sweden. CapMan is based in Finland and has raised over $3 billion in the last 10 years.
