The USD 13 billion public pension fund has concluded its search for a general investment consultant. The search, which began in June 2009, has come to a conclusion with the selection of R.V. Kuhns & Associates as general investment consultant from a number of candidates that responded to the RFP. LAFPP initiated the search as a result of its contract with its previous consultant approaching expiration.

R.V. Kuhns & Associates will assist the pension fund with its investment decisions and will provide services that cover its entire portfolio. LAFPP has been an institutional investor in private equity for over a decade, and has a target allocation of 10% to the asset class.

R.V. Kuhns & Associates replaces LAFPP’s incumbent consultant, Pension Consulting Alliance, which was allowed to rebid for the position. R.V. Kuhns & Associates provides strategic investment consulting services to over 300 US-based clients including public, corporate and Taft-Hartley retirement systems, foundations, endowments, financial institutions, non-pension operating funds and high-net-worth individuals. The services it provides include asset allocation optimization, performance reporting, investment manager research, and the development of investment policy and guidelines.
