Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) to commit to real estate funds

IMRF, the USD 22.2 billion pension fund, is looking to continue investing in private funds over the next 12 months. It is seeking to allocate USD 100 million across two or three vehicles. It is interested in both core and opportunistic markets. The pension fund also remains interested in debt funds and vehicles with a focus on distressed situations. The pension fund has allocated 2% to real estate and has a 6% target allocation. It has over 18% of its real estate portfolio allocated to private equity real estate funds and nearly 40% allocated to core vehicles.
