AXA Private Equity’s infrastructure fund has finalised the acquisition of Kallista Energies Renouvelables (formerly, Enersis Energies Renouvelables) and Kallista France (formerly, Enersis France) which were both formerly owned by Babcock & Brown. The deal secures includes 15 wind farms, with a potential aggregate capacity of 163 MW, which together make up one of the most important wind platforms in France.

The two companies will be held through Holding Energies Renouvelables, a holding company focused on renewable energy investments in France. It is likely that AXA will make further investments with the company.

Launched in 2005 AXA Infrastructure Partners focuses on Western European mature infrastructure companies and economic infrastructure projects in development. It closed in 2008 with commitments totalling EUR 1.3 billion. The fund has since invested in the transport, energy, water distribution and waste treatment sectors.
