Virtus Investment Partners was formed in the early 1990s as Phoenix Investment Partners and later evolved following a reverse merger with Duff & Phelps Investment Management. The firm is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, and operates a multi-manager asset management model, working with affiliated investment boutiques and selected sub-advisers that maintain independent investment processes. Its subsidiary investment firms include Stone Harbor Investment Partners, Seix Investment Advisors, and Newfleet Asset Management, which was founded in 2008. Virtus offers investment strategies across equities, fixed income, alternatives, and multi-asset solutions, distributed through mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, and separate accounts for retail and institutional investors.
