United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is a multiemployer defined-benefit plan that was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1949 for the staff of the United Nations and other international organizations that are included in the fund. The private sector pension fund provides participants with retirement, death, disability, and related benefits and is located in New York City. The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization that was formed immediately following the end of World War Two. Its main objective is to maintain peace and security worldwide and achieve international cooperation among nations. The UN is headquartered in New York, with other main offices located in Geneva, Nairobi, Vienna, and The Hague.
