About

New York and Presbyterian Hospital Retirement Plan is a noncontributory defined benefit plan that provides retirement benefits for eligible employees upon their retirement date, as well as related death benefits for the employees' dependents. The retirement plan was created through the merger of the Group Retirement Plan of the Presbyterian Hospital and the New York-Presbyterian Retirement Plan. New York and Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH) was established in 1998 through the merger of the Society of the New York Hospital and The Presbyterian Hospital in New York. NYPH is an academic medical center providing a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, primarily to residents of the New York metropolitan area. On December 31, 2023, the plan was merged into the New York-Presbyterian Pension Plan known as the Newyork-Presbyterian/Queens Retirement Plan which is the continuing plan, with all of the plan's net assets that were available for benefits transferred to the continuing plan on it.
