Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers (Weiss) is a New York-based hedge fund manager that focuses on alternatives in liquid markets. The firm was founded in 1978 by George Weiss and has been open to institutional capital since its founding. The basis of Weiss's investment philosophy is a forward-looking assessment of the combination of detailed fundamental research, opportunistic asset allocation, and proactive risk management. It incorporates data analytics into the firm's process, aiming to quantitatively measure discretionary managers’ skill and behavior biases along with a multitude of dimensions that seek to positively influence the investment process of portfolio managers (PMs) and the allocation committee.
