UBP Alternative Investments

Established in 1969, UBP Alternative Investments (UBP AI) is the fund of hedge funds management arm of Union Bancaire Privée (UBP). It focuses on managing and advising fund of funds products, as well as providing institutional customised investment solutions. UBP Alternative Investments' team is based in Geneva, London and Paris. It looks to identify, evaluate, select and monitor hedge fund managers that have a clear structured approach to both investment and business organisation, and must be capable of achieving superior risk-adjusted returns over a complete investment cycle. In April 2012, UBP acquired a fund of hedge funds manager, Nexar Capital Group, in a move that saw Nexar’s senior team and its funds integrated within UBP Alternative Investments. In April 2013, UBP Alternative Investments joined forces with US-based financial services firm Guggenheim Partners to launch a new managed account platform. Investors were offered access to managers selected by UBP and were placed on an existing structure from Guggenheim Fund Solutions. The platform was launched with 14 managers. In May 2020, UBP Alternative Investments acquired GAM, a fund of hedge funds manager.
