Stage Capital, originally formed as a subsidiary of NBGI, the international investment banking affiliate of the National Bank of Greece, is a firm that targets buyout opportunities of small and medium sized businesses in the UK, France and emerging European countries including the Balkans and Turkey. The firm focuses on the services, healthcare and manufacturing industries. Alongside its buyout investments, the firm also makes venture capital investments in medical technology companies. For its venture strategy, the firm invests predominantly in the main EU countries and Switzerland but will also consider investments in non-EU states such as the US and Israel. In conjunction with its other investment strategies, Stage Capital also invests in energy and environmental opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe. These investments typically focus on renewable energy and waste management but it can invest in non-renewable opportunities within the targeted region. Stage Capital completed its rebranding and separation from Greek bank NBGI . The deal was backed by Deutsche Bank Private Equity and Goldman Sachs Asset Management alongside the Stage Capital Team.
