Sorin Capital Management (Sorin) is a Stamford-based independent investment management firm founded in 2004 by Jim Higgins. Sorin focuses on U.S. commercial real estate securities, primarily CMBS and REITs. The firm runs hedge fund, liquid alternative, and value-added long-only strategies within these markets. The firm invests through several vehicles with different risk/return mandates, but with a common investment philosophy based on fundamental commercial real estate analysis and opportunistic investing. These seek to take advantage of mispriced risk in sectors dominated by index investors. Sorin currently manages capital for pension funds, family offices, and fund of funds and focuses on the provision of CMBS, RMBS, mezzanine, CRE CDOs and preferred equity.
