Sonya Capital Management is a discretionary global macro investment manager that seeks to integrate quantitative methods into its investment approach. The firm was founded and seeded in December 2016 by Anna Raytcheva. Previously, Anna spent 22 years at Citigroup, where she oversaw a multi-billion-dollar balance sheet and large teams of traders as Head of the Strategic Trading Desk, Co-Head of Risk Treasury, and Head of the Agency MBS Trading Desk. She traded through 8 Central Bank tightening and easing cycles and a few financial crises, such as the Asian financial crisis, the Dot-com bubble, and the Global Financial crisis. When Anna left Citigroup, the WSJ featured her as "Citigroup's last proprietary trader." Helen Yu joined the firm in February 2018 as a Partner. Previously, Helen worked 10 years at Perry Capital, 6 of those as Chief Risk Officer in addition to roles as a Macro and tail-risk Trader/Analyst and Structured Credit Analyst. Sonya Capital Management currently manages outside money in a separately managed account structure.
