Founded in 2005, SkyBridge Capital is a New York-based fund of hedge funds manager that invests in hedge funds and provides strategic capital to managers who are developing new hedge funds. The firm aims to enhance its investments in underlying funds by providing business-building support, investment guidance, and advice. In 2010, the firm acquired the hedge fund seeding, fund of hedge funds, and hedge fund advisory businesses of Citi Alternative Investments (CAI). This acquisition helped the firm to offer investment services across four business lines, addressing every type of market participant, from individual retail investors to large institutions. These business lines are commingled funds of funds products, custom portfolios, and hedge fund advisory services. Raymond Nolte, who has led the hedge fund group at CAI since 2005, joined the company as a managing partner and CIO along with his team of more than 20 professionals. In 2018, it launched the SkyBridge Opportunity Zone REIT, which focuses on investing in private real estate assets in the US. The firm focuses on the acquisition, development, redevelopment, and management of various property types.
