Shanghai International Group

Established in 1981, Shanghai International Group (SIG) is a China-based government agency that aims to develop and spur the growth of Shanghai's economy. Headquartered in Shanghai, SIG manages the capital and assets of Shanghai and invests in both financial investments such as securities, funds and trusts and non-financial investments such as infrastructure projects, key industries, and development of Pudong New Area. The responsibility of SIG also includes the restructuring of state-owned companies and the regulation of trust businesses. Shanghai International Group owns a portfolio of companies, such as Shanghai State-owned Assets Management, Shanghai International Group Asset Management, Shanghai Sitico Assets Management and Shanghai International Group (Hong Kong).
