Quantopian is a Boston-based hedge fund manager that utilizes a crowd-sourced platform for trading algorithms. It allocates capital among select algorithms uploaded to the platform through the Quantopian Managers Program. Creators of algorithms that receive an allocation, in turn, earn a share of the algorithms returns. The firm was founded in 2011 by John Fawcett and John Bredeche. In Q2 of 2017, the firm opened up to investor capital through its debut hedge fund vehicle, 1337 Street Fund. The strategy is available to investors through Delaware and Cayman Islands-domiciled offerings.
