Novus Capital ("Novus") is a Brazil-based investment management firm born from the merge between Modal Asset (asset management arm within the investment bank) and FLAG Asset in September 2018. The firm's essence is to preserve the funds previously managed by the two institution, combining ideas to generate alpha in the long-term. It has a macro outlook as the basis for portfolio construction, utilizing a discretionary approach in the decision making process. In its equity side, Novus employs a stock picking approach done through extensive sector and company analysis. Its two main partners, Luiz Portella and Luis Quieroz, provide a combination of experience between the fixed income and equity markets in the Brazilian banking industry.
