Marcato Capital Management

Marcato Capital Management was a hedge fund manager managing a select number of passive and activist investments across various industry sectors with a primary focus on middle-market public equities. The firm was founded in 2010 by Mick McGuire, a former partner at Pershing Square Capital Management. Mick had spent his entire career in private and public equity investing with experience from JH Whitney Investment Management and Stonington Partners. Marcato Capital Management began the process of liquidating in December 2019 after a couple years of dwindling assets and sub-par returns.
