Maerisland Capital was founded in September 2011 by Mark Beder, a former partner at Tremblant Capital and managing director at Julian Robertson's Tiger Management. The firm’s investment objective is to produce repeatable long-term alpha on the long and short side of a global portfolio designed using proprietary, fundamental, bottom-up research. It seeks to produce returns irrespective of market direction and to limit the volatility of returns by avoiding excessively large geographic, market, stock, sector or thematic concentration. Maerisland Capital primarily focuses on select portions of the global consumer discretionary, telecom, industrial and technology industry sectors.
