Using portfolio development and active portfolio management, L&B invests through separate account vehicles. L&B Realty Advisors is a limited liability partnership and is employee-owned. L&B’s two principal partners, G. Andrews Smith, Managing Director and Daniel L. Plumlee, President and CIO, acquired 100% ownership from Old Mutual, plc in 2005. L&B adopted an equity sharing plan granting 15 current, active investment professionals a right to compensation tied to future appreciation of the firm’s worth. Future grants under this equity plan are contemplated which could result in 20% of the firm’s value being owned by the participants in the plan.
