Korea Investment Management (KIM) was established in 2000 as a spin-off asset manager from Korea Investment Trust, a domestic investment trust company incorporated in 1974. Besides investing in hedge funds through its fund of hedge fund vehicles, the firm also manages a series of investment trusts for both retail and institutional clients. KIM delivers consistent returns by emphasizing on fundamentals rather than short-term momentum. It selects investments based on a combination of bottom-up and top-down fundamental research and invests based on a mid to long-term horizon. The Seoul-based firm is currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings.
