General Atlantic is private equity firm based on US, UK and a fund manager that focused on investing in and building leading growth companies since its founding principals started investing in 1980. The firm invest in consumer product and services, business services, healthcare, retail, food and wide verity of services. GA’s strategy applies across all commitment types (Managed Accounts, Evergreen Accounts, Commingled Funds (GAIP), and the GP Commitment). GA invests out of a single pool of capital and all current investors participate in new investments regardless of account type. The GA Managed Account Program (which includes the commitment types listed above) focuses on investments across the growth spectrum (generally private, but sometimes public), primarily targeting later-stage growth companies (“core” investments), but also invests in emerging growth companies, which are earlier stage investments where GA believes there is the potential for outsized returns, and pre-revenue stage life sciences companies. Through the GA Managed Account Program, GA invests in five industry sectors (Technology, Financial Services, Healthcare, Consumer and Life Sciences) and the following geographic regions: United States, Europe, Middle East & Africa (“EMEA”), Latin America, China, and India & Southeast Asia. The industry and geographic sectors that GA focuses on may evolve over time to reflect increasing globalization and other emerging trends. GA is typically an active lead investor with a significant minority ownership position and a board seat. Additionally, in 2020, GA launched Atlantic Park, a strategic rescue capital joint venture with Iron Park Capital and GA's first product outside of growth equity. The natural resources arm of the firm focuses on climate investing and industrial decarbonization across the globe. The private debt arm of the firm focused on investing in and building leading growth companies since its founding principals started investing in special situations and distressed debt.
