Gávea Investimentos is a global alternative asset management boutique focused on Emerging Markets founded in 2003 by Arminio Fraga (former President of the Central Bank of Brazil from 1999 to 2003). The firm has two main lines of business: Private Equity and Hedge Funds. The Private Equity arm focuses on growth investments through the implementation of fundamental analysis, and it normally has a 5-10 years investment horizon. The Hedge Fund arm focuses on macroeconomic strategies, having a pool of 30 countries analyzed by portfolio managers and operating across a variety of markets, such as foreign exchange, equity, interest rate, and debt (both spot and derivatives).
