Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn is an investment management firm founded in 1973. The firm offers separate account portfolio management for various types of equity, as well as mutual funds and hedge funds. The firm's clients consist of corporate pension funds, educational, community, religious, and private endowments and foundations, as well as individuals. Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn manages a series of private equity funds of funds known as the CRM Enterprise Funds. The firm aim was to provide investors exposure to a broadly diversified portfolio of private equity investments across the spectrum of the asset class, including leveraged buyout funds, venture capital funds, distressed/turnaround funds, and mezzanine finance funds. As of January 2007, Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn was no longer making private equity fund investments. Instead, the firm's investment focus has switched to the hedge fund asset class.
