Claritas is a Brazilian asset manager owned by Principal Financial Group that specializes in diversified portfolio investment opportunities. The firm launched Claritas Hedge in 1999 as one of Brazil's first macro hedge funds in the country. Ever since then, the firm has expanded its scope within the Brazilian hedge fund space, launching more alternative hedge vehicles by offering multi-asset, long/short, long bias, and quantitative funds. In 2008, the Brazilian asset manager entered into the private equity sphere with the start of investments in timber and general asset allocation activities. Regarding its international activities, Claritas manages a fund focused on the broader Latin American market, which is domiciled in Chile. Its real estate arm specializes in the acquisition and management of real estate assetswhile managing private real estate funds.
