BlueOrchard Finance

BlueOrchard is a Switzerland-based commercial microfinance investment manager that provides financial instruments and solutions for placements in microfinance. BlueOrchard investment philosophy is to generate profitable returns on investments while supporting the development of promising small enterprises. BlueOrchard acquires minority stakes in companies while playing an active governance role by sharing international experience, information, networks, and knowledge and taking an active role at the board level. The firm separated out its fixed-income and private equity activities. The fixed-income business became BlueOrchard Finance and the private equity business became part of Geneva-based Bamboo Finance. Bamboo Finance invests in diversified sectors globally. The infrastructure arm focuses on renewable energy, energy infrastructure and efficiency, sustainable transportation, and digital infrastructure. In October 2019, Schroders completed the acquisition of a majority stake in BlueOrchard Finance.
