Founded in 2019, Bluebell Capital Partners (“Bluebell”), were a London based activist manager setup by Partners and Co-CIO’s Giuseppe Bivona and Marco Taricco. For further background, Bluebell was a European activist manager that managed an Irish regulated fund. The fund invested in a concentrated number of stocks (average of 12 holdings in the long book) with an investment horizon of 18 months which resulted in low correlation to the broader markets. In 2023 Bluebell initiated 6 new campaigns and exited 9. Recent positions that were publicly disclosed include BP, TIM (former Telecom Italia), Worldline, and BlackRock. Bluebell have been behind many activist campaigns including Vestas, Danone, Tiffany, Richemont, RWE, GSK, and Glencore. Bluebell also offered co-investments to investors under advisory agreements / fund vehicles and had operational capability to run SMAs. Bluebell managed a concentrated portfolio, typically 10-15 positions, of listed companies predominantly in Europe. The team invested in large cap companies running high quality businesses in attractive sectors at a significant discount to intrinsic value. Bluebell sought to be a catalyst for change to unlock shareholder value. They employed a private equity approach to public markets. Through the identification of company specific, actionable items the goal was to open a constructive dialogue with a target company’s board and management.
