Apicem Capital is a South Africa-based venture capital firm that focuses on the agriculture, hospitality, asset rental, technology, franchise, manufacturing, and renewable energy industries underpinned by section 12J tax incentives, an income tax account introduced by Treasury to incentivize South African taxpayers. The firm, under section 12J, is prohibited from investing in property (unless the property is within the hospitality sector), financial services businesses, certain professional services businesses, and businesses that trade in alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and arms and ammunition.
