Allianz Global Investors was established in 1998 as a hedge fund manager and infrastructure firm that offers a diversified range of active investment strategies across four main pillars: equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternatives. The firm covers developed and emerging markets as well as public and private markets. Strategies are offered based on fundamental analysis, quantitative analysis, and, increasingly, a blend of the two: quantamental. Over the years, AllianzGI has built an alternative platform that comprises public markets / liquid alternatives strategies as well as real assets and private markets strategies. Within liquid alternatives, Allianz offers plans, including equity long/short, merger arbitrage, options trading, commodities, volatility, global macro, and absolute return bonds, some of which have been managed for more than a decade. The real assets and private markets platform offers a broad range of strategies for professional investors covering the infrastructure space (debt and equity), the private corporate debt/ credit segment (investment grade and non-investment grade), and private equity. In 2018, Allianz Capital Partners GmbH moved under the AllianzGI umbrella. It focuses on investing in private equity, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
