Founded in 2004 as a multi-family office, Algarve Investimentos ("Algarve") started its hedge fund operations in 2012 and is located in São Paulo, Brazil. Its investment team is composed of portfolio managers who previously worked at proprietary trading desks in Brazilian banks, such as Itaú. The firm has a global focus, seeking to invest in different asset classes across a variety of countries. Its investment process consists primarily of macroeconomic analysis, in which portfolio managers determine a base scenario and identify opportunities to be explored.
