Actis is a fund manager focusing on investments in sustainable infrastructure globally. The firm was established in 2004 after spinning out of the Commonwealth Development Corporation, a UK government organization. Their approach is to invest in sectors that deliver sustainable solutions and to drive value at the asset level through active ownership. Actis invests in already sustainable assets, as well as companies and assets that are ‘between’ green and brown to drive further impact. The private equity arm of the firm focuses on growth in the emerging markets of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The firm targets opportunities that have arisen as a result of increasing consumer demand in emerging markets, as well as a greater need to invest in energy, infrastructure, real estate, and private equity classes. The real estate arm of the firm specializes in the acquisition, development, redevelopment, and management of real estate assets, as well as the management of private real estate funds. The firm focuses on opportunities in office, retail, industrial, and residential properties across selected countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. The infrastructure arm of the firm focuses on Digital Infrastructure investments in three key subsectors: Data centers, towers, and fiber.
