Based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and founded in 1988, Shopping do Brasil investimento e Participacao S/A, trading under the name Tenco Shopping Centers, is a shopping center developer. It was first established as an engineering company and by 2001, it eventually evolved into a developer of shopping malls. Part of its portfolio of completed projects are Edifício Empresarial Tenco and Edifício Parc Julien Riant located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Other major projects carried out were McDonald's stores in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Recife, Rio and Brasília, Tok & Stok also in the capital of Minas Gerais and Outback in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In October 2012, the company received a growth investment from a local private equity firm, Patria Investments. The company also increases its portfolio of shopping malls through an acquisition strategy, acquiring Jaraguá do Sul Park Shopping located in Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 2016. As of March 2021, the company has already completed 85 projects, of which 26 are malls in 14 Brazilian states, and manages 16 shopping malls in all regions of Brazil. It is being led by its current CEO, Eduardo Canonico. Tenco Shopping Centers SA primarily operates as a specialist in the development, management, commercialization and administration of shopping malls in Brazil.
