Based in Nanjing, China, and founded in 2012 by CEO Chris Xu, Nanjing Xiyin Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd., d.b.a. Shein operates as a fashion and lifestyle e-retailer that provides fashion wear including women's wear, men's wear, children's clothes and apparel, trendy accessories, and other fashionable products and accessories. In May 2023, the company raised USD 2 billion co-led by new investor Mubadala Investment Company and returning investors General Atlantic and Sequoia Capital China. The series G funding values the company at USD 66 billion post-money. Shein provides a wide range of womenswear, such as tops, dresses, bottoms, suits, sweatshirts, maternity sets, lingerie, loungewear, beachwear, and accessories. The company also offers menswear, and kids' wear, including tops, bottoms, swimwear and activewear, shoes, bags, glasses, belts, bracelets, and more accessories. It utilizes a network of manufacturing partners and suppliers to make and deliver its products. It has set up 11 self-owned brands and is able to serve consumers in more than 150 countries and regions around the world. In 2022, Shein revenue USD 23 billion.
