Based in Beijing, China, and founded in 2017, Ruixing Coffee (Beijing) Co., Ltd., trading under the name Luckin Coffee, produces and sells coffee and other beverages, as well as catering services. The company was founded by Jenny Qian Zhiya. In 2019, Ruixing Coffee (Beijing) Co. was publicly listed on the NASDAQ, and in 2021, the company raised funding from Centurium Capital and Joy Capital. In January 2022, a consortium led by Centurium Capital, along with Ares SSG and IDG Capital acquired a stake in Ruixing Coffee (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Luckin Coffee uses mobile and big data technology to connect with customers and suppliers, as well as to offer coffee products such as coffee beans and other beverages. The application allows users to order through their mobile application and by scanning QR codes in stores. In 2022, the company's operating income was CNY 13.29 billion, and its net profit was CNY 488.25 million. Following its funding in 2021, Luckin Coffee plans to use the investment to facilitate the company’s proposed offshore restructuring, fulfill its obligations under its settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and to continue the execution of its business plan.
