The company operates with a mission to minimize the carbon footprint through systematic segregation and recycling of scientific plastic wastes formed in laboratories. The firm equips organizations with a proprietary sorting system called carbin, where the rigid plastics are separated to clear (colorless) and non-clear (colored) plastics, before proceeding to the recycling process. Polycarbin also offers an app that allows clients to scan their carbin QR codes to generate pick-up requests, as well as to measure and track waste production, the quantity of waste recycled, and carbon footprint reduction. Polycarbin rE-Marketplace is another service offered by the company, which allows laboratories to purchase recycled materials like pipette tips, conicals, and microcentrifuge tubes, among other things.
