Founded in 2016 and based in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong, OneDegree Hong Kong Limited, trading under the name OneDegree, is a digital insurance company that covers pet insurance and fire insurance. The company was co-founded by Alvin Kwock (CEO), and Alex Leung. In July 2023, OneDegree raised venture debt funding from HSBC and a strategic investment from Hailstone Labs. The company provides dog insurance, cat insurance, and fire insurance. Pet insurance reimburses up to 90% of vet bills when pets are mild injuries or serious chronic illnesses. Fire insurance covers fire, flood, lightning, and boiler or gas explosion. The firm’s proprietary platform leverages blockchain technology to realize cross-claim processing, strategy management, and advanced analysis of traditional manual processes, thereby providing automated customer service. OneDegree plans to use its July 2023 funding to boost its global expansion.
