Founded in 1979 and based in Odense, Denmark, NGF Nature Energy A/S produces and supplies green gas, biogas, by using livestock manure, food waste, and other community waste products. In February 2023, Royal Dutch Shell acquired Nature Energy Biogas A/S from Pioneer Point Partners, Davidson Kempner Capital Management, and Sampension for approximately USD 2 billion. As of 2024, the company is led by its CEO, Ole Hvelplund. The company specializes in biogas production, actively contributing to the green transition by offering sustainable energy solutions.
The firm produces CO2-neutral biogas from organic materials such as manure and food waste, positioning itself as an alternative to fossil fuels. Nature Energy’s biogas is widely used in heavy road transport, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to diesel. It reduces CO2 emissions by up to 100%, helping hauliers and transport companies minimize their carbon footprint without compromising on performance or driving range. In addition, the company provides turnkey biogas tank systems and refueling facilities, supporting the green transition.
