About

Founded in 2022 and based in Barcelona, Spain, Minicoders 21 S.L. instructs kids to program through so-called play-to-learn model on its game-based educational platform. The company was co-founded by Ruben Aparicio, a mobile business consultant, and Carlos Moreno Gonzalez, an edu-tech entrepreneur. Another co-founder of the company is Nuclio, a venture capital firm active in the platform economy sector. In July 2022, the company introduced Magic School, its first educational game developed in Roblox, which has already surpassed 20,000 players one month after its launch. In October 2022, the company received EUR 350,000 in pre-seed funding from nVentures and Casti Ventures, two venture capital firms. The company develops apps and platforms that can teach kids from 6 to 12 to code via games in the metaverse. The company’s first product is Magic School, an app where kids can apply the knowledge acquired from Minicoders Kids app. The company has been approved as a listed member in KidSAFE, a safety certification program backed by children's privacy consultant Shai Samet. The company generates revenue from selling app’s membership plans. The different plans provide different access to various functions on the app, including video tutorial, parental tracking and in-game personal tutor. Three tiers of membership are provided – from low level to high – Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Silver for USD 4.99 per month, Gold for USD 12.69 and Platinum for USD 35.55. The company is expanding its business globally by translating Magic School into different languages. It launched Portuguese version in 2022 to introduce it to Brazil and Portugal markets.
