Based in Milan, Italy, and founded in 2020 by CEO Valerio Chiaronzi, Hlpy S.r.l., a.k.a. Hlpy is a digital roadside assistance company that develops a technology that allows car drivers to activate a roadside assistance request through their smartphone as well as receive real-time information on the assistance process. In May 2022, Hlpy raised EUR 600,000 in pre-series A funding from The Techshop. The company provides a B2B (business to business) mobile application for roadside assistance companies to assign activities to the service partners, allowing a geo-localized and real-time management of the roadside assistance. On the other hand, partners can accept or refuse the rescue task, declare the intervention times, and choose the wagon and driver that they will go to the standstill of the stranded motorist. As of October 2022, 650 rescuers managing a fleet of over 3,000 emergency vehicles throughout Italy via Hlpy application. Hlpy plans to use proceeds from May 2022 funding to scale up the business into other European markets, as well as accelerate the research and development, and product development activities. The company also plans to expand across borders and lunch new services to complement its value proposition.
