Based in London, UK, and founded in 1973 by Felix Dennis, Dennis Publishing Limited, doing business as Dennis, operates as a media company that publishes and distributes magazines. The firm started its business by publishing its first magazine, Kung Fu Monthly. Since its inception, the company has grown through several acquisitions, acquiring a series of computer titles including PC Pro, Hi-fi Choice, and Personal Computer World magazines. In 1995, the firm launched Maxim, a men’s lifestyle magazine, and in 1996 it acquired the brand, The Week. Exponent Private Equity acquired the company in 2018 and in August 2021, Future Plc agreed to acquire 12 brands/ titles of Dennis Publishing Limited from Exponent Private Equity for approximately GBP 300 million in cash. As of September 2021, James Tye remains to be the company’s CEO, and the firm has offices in New York and Washington, US. Dennis Publishing Limited’s portfolio of over 30 brands operates in four areas such as current affairs, technology, automotive, and specialist. The company reaches over 50 million users and sells more than 2.5 million magazines every month. The firm develops digital media content intended for the digital advertisement purposes of its customers and publishes digital magazines through web and mobile sites. Following its purchase agreement with Future plc, Dennis Publishing Limited plans to grow the reach, value, and influence of all its key brands and businesses.
