Based in Berlin, Germany, and co-founded by Ferdi van Heerden and Augustine Mahbu Ntemi in 2021, Piquantor GmbH, trading under the name Cooko GmbH operates as an ag-tech company. In June 2023, the firm raised EUR 800,000 in pre-seed funding. Cooko as of June 2023, has offices in Berlin and Cameroon. The company operates as a designer and developer of a national traceability system for value chain development for Cameroon, the fourth largest cocoa-producing country of cacao and related products such as source-fermented cacao.

The company is working on reframing the cocoa value chain by implementing source traceability, to enhance the livelihood of farmers and secure agri-forestry landscapes. The company also offers smart, cloud-enabled harvesting containers that turn first-mile logistics into a value gain, to increase quality, decrease costs, and provide precise traceability data. Cooko has also developed a cloud-based commercial platform that facilitates trade, engages unbanked communities, and offers direct e-commerce solutions to rural farmers, as well as provides futures trading data ahead of others, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions. The company plans to utilize its June 2023 funding to further support the development of the cocoa value chain.
