About

Based in Ghent, Belgium, and founded in 2022, Bio Inx develops biomaterials for 3D-bioprinting applications as well as applied for various tissue types with applications in regenerative medicine and drug and cosmetics screening. The company was formed through the spin-off project of Ghent University. In September 2022, Bio Inx raised EUR 0.7 million from a combination of private investment and public funding. As of September 2022, Jasper Van Hoorick is the CEO of the company. The company’s product line includes inks for multiphoton lithography like hydrobio inx, degrad inx and hydrotech inx; inks for deposition-based 3D printing like gel-ma inx, easygel inx, stable inx, solid inx, and support inx; and inks for digital light processing and stereolithography. Bio Inx’s bio-ink portfolio is suitable for multiple printing technologies, attainable resolutions range from hundreds of micrometers to hundreds of nanometers. Bio Inx plans to use its proceeds from September 2022 investment to expand its high-resolution multiphoton lithography portfolio with the launch of 2 new resins enabling the printing of living cells, setting up infrastructure to further improve quality standards, and enabling the development of its next-generation bio-inks.
