Founded in 2016 and based in Beijing, China, iSpace is a commercial launch vehicle developer that focuses on the development and design of launch vehicles and spacecraft. The company's team comes from the fields of technology research and development, business management, consulting and other fields and cooperates with aerospace companies such as Hangyu Technology, Aisda, and Xinhangtai. In September 2024, it raised CNY 700 million in series C & C+ funding. The company mainly develops small solid rockets and reusable liquid launch vehicles. Its products include the Hyperbola-1 small solid rocket (SQX-1), the Hyperbola-2 verification rocket (SQX-2Y), the Hyperbola-2 reusable liquid launch vehicle (Hyperbola-2), the suborbital space tourism concept aircraft, the Focus-1 liquid rocket engine (JD-1), the Focus-2 liquid oxygen-methane engine, and the Star Control-1 core equipment. The company generates revenue by developing commercial launch vehicles, such as small solid rockets and reusable liquid launch vehicles and providing launch services. The company will use the series C & C+ funding to advance the production of solid-propellant launch vehicles and the development of Hyperbola III, deliver SQX-3 rocket products in January 2025, conduct SQX-3 simulated rocket sea trials and joint exercises, complete the first flight test of the SQX-3 launch vehicle in December 2025, and conduct SQX-3 reusable flight tests in June 2026.
