The African private equity and venture capital association is the pan-African industry body which promotes and enables private investment in Africa. AVCA plays a significant role as a champion and effective change agent for the industry It educates, equips and connects members and stakeholders with independent industry research, best practice training programmes and exceptional networking opportunities.

Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA)

AIMA is the global representative of the alternative investment industry, with more than 1,900 corporate members in over 60 countries. AIMA’s fund manager members collectively manage more than $2tn in hedge fund and private credit assets. AIMA draws upon the expertise and diversity of its membership to provide leadership in industry initiatives such as advocacy, policy and regulatory engagement, educational programmes and sound practice guides. AIMA works to raise media and public awareness of the value of the industry. AIMA set up the Alternative Credit Council (ACC) to help firms focused in the private credit and direct lending space. The ACC currently represents over 100 members that manage $350 billion of private credit assets globally. AIMA is committed to developing skills and education standards and is a co-founder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation (CAIA) – the first and only specialised educational standard for alternative investment specialists. AIMA is governed by its Council (Board of Directors).

The American Investment Council (AIC)

The AIC is an advocacy and resource organization established to develop and provide information about the private equity investment industry and its contributions to the long-term growth of the US economy and retirement security of American workers. Member firms of the AIC consist of the country's leading private equity and growth capital firms united by their successful partnerships with limited partners and American businesses.

The Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL)

The AVCAL is the voice of private equity and venture capital in Australia. The AVCAL's members provide capital and expertise to start-ups, SMEs and large organisations by enhancing innovation, productivity and sustainability. In turn, the industry plays an important role in the broader Australian economy by building better businesses.

British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA)

The BVCA is the industry body and public policy advocate for the private equity and venture capital industry in the UK. For more than three decades it has represented the industry and delivered authoritative research and analysis, proprietary publications, specialist training, topical conferences and best practice standards. Its membership comprises more than 700 influential firms, including over 300 private equity and venture capital houses, as well as institutional investors, professional advisers, service providers and international associations.

Bundesverband Alternative Investments eV (BAI)

BAI is the cross-asset and cross-product advocacy association for the alternative investments industry in Germany. Regarding alternative investments, it advocates for better opportunities of diversification for institutional or professional investors' portfolios. The focus of BAI's efforts is to ensure German pension and retirement planning in the long run. It is a catalyzer between professional German investors and recognized worldwide providers of alternative investments products and services.

Hedge Funds Care (HFC)

Since 1998, HFC has worked to prevent and treat child abuse both at home and abroad. A global foundation, historically supported by the alternative asset management industry, HFC provides grants to effective child abuse prevention and treatment interventions across three continents, in seven countries and 12 cities, making the world a safer place for children.

The Indian Association of Alternative Investment Funds (IAAIF)

The IAAIF is a non-profit organization with the objective of promoting and protecting the interests of the alternative investments industry in India. IAAIF was set up by the Association of International Wealth Management of India (AIWMI) and is committed to act as a representative & advocacy body devoted to promoting transparency, professional standards and trust in alternative investments.

The Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (IVCA)

The IVCA plays a key role in representing the alternative investment fund industry and has had a significant impact with policy makers in Delhi and regulators like SEBI and the RBI. IVCA's mission is to continuously promote and enlighten the private equity industry and venture capitalists on the developments and market opportunities. It endeavours to fortify the private equity industry and venture capitals with knowledge and numbers that depict the true picture of the Indian market. By being the most representative and diverse body for the community, the IVCA provides a platform for member firms to network and share best practices and information.

Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA)

ILPA engages, empowers and connects LPs to maximize their performance on an individual, institutional and collective basis. With approximately 450 member institutions representing more than $2tn USD of private equity AUM, ILPA is the only global organization dedicated exclusively to advancing the interests of LPs and their beneficiaries through best-in-class education, research, advocacy and events.

From its origins as an informal networking club comprising a few dozen LPs, ILPA has grown its membership to more than 4,500 members professionals across 50+ countries, managing 50% of the global institutional private equity AUM.

International Project Finance Information (IPFA)

IPFA is an independent, not-for-profit, professional members association dedicated to promoting and representing the interests of both public and private sector organisations involved in project finance and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) worldwide. It has as its members the key players within the infrastructure and energy industry, including financial institutions, project sponsors, law firms, construction companies and operators active in PPP and project finance markets globally.

LPEQ

LPEQ was founded to engage with investors to deepen understanding of the key investment considerations when looking to invest in the private equity sector. It is also a platform bringing together its members to share knowledge and best practice. LPEQ upholds and promotes best practices in the long-term interests of the LPE sector as a whole. It was founded in 2006 as an initiative to raise understanding of private equity investment trusts, primarily in the UK.

Managed Funds Association (MFA)

MFA represents the global alternative investment industry and its investors by advocating for sound industry practices and public policies that foster efficient, transparent and fair capital markets. MFA, based in Washington DC, is an advocacy, education and communications organization established to enable hedge fund and managed futures firms in the alternative investment industry to participate in public policy discourse, share best practices and learn from peers, as well as communicate the industry's contributions to the global economy. MFA members help pension plans, university endowments, charitable organizations, qualified individuals and other institutional investors to diversify their investments, manage risk and generate attractive returns over time. MFA has cultivated a global membership and actively engages with regulators and policymakers in Asia, Europe, the Americas, Australia and all other regions where MFA members are market participants.

The Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (SVCA)

The SVCA was formed in 1992 to promote the development of the venture capital and private equity industry. Its mission is to foster greater understanding of the importance of venture capital and private equity to the economy in support of entrepreneurship and innovation and to look after the interests ofof its members.

Columbia Business School

Columbia Business School joins academic theory and real-world practice through broad engagement with the business community. In 2007, the School launched the Private Equity Program, which serves as the Business School's primary point of contact with the private equity industry; unifying students, alumni and the business community into a single network.

The ESSEC Private Equity Chair

The ESSEC Private Equity Chair is a forum dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge on private equity and training future industry professionals. The Chair produces academic and managerial research on private equity and related topics, organizes events that bring academics and professionals together, and offers advanced coursework to ESSEC students. The Chair is supported by Barclays Private Equity, Grant Thornton and Linklaters.

Harvard Business School

Josh Lerner is the Jacob H. Schiff Professor of Investment Banking at Harvard Business School, with a joint appointment in the Finance and the Entrepreneurial Management Units. He is a top private equity scholar who has a personal home page with much private equity information. In recent years, "Venture Capital and Private Equity" has consistently been one of the largest elective courses at Harvard Business School.

INSEAD Global Private Equity Initiative (GPEI)

GPEI was launched in August 2009 by INSEAD to combine the energies and talents of the school's research and educational capabilities with INSEAD alumni and global professionals in the private equity industry. With a global mandate, GPEI focuses its research on emerging markets and the needs of LPs.

Thunderbird School of Global Management

Thunderbird Global Private Equity Center's (TPEC) vision is to become a leading, globally recognized thought-leadership platform for business executives, investors, alumni and students, to enhance understanding and advance knowledge on the key issues and trends facing private equity investing worldwide.

Privcap

Privcap is a digital media company that produces thought-leadership content and events for the global private capital market, and offers customized communications services to market participants.
