Columbia Business School

Columbia Business School joins academic theory and real-world practice through broad engagement with the business community. In 2007, the School launched the Private Equity Program, which serves as the Business School's primary point of contact with the private equity industry, unifying students, alumni and the business community into a single network.

ESSEC Private Equity Chair

The ESSEC Private Equity Chair is a forum dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge on Private Equity and training future industry professionals. The Chair produces academic and managerial research on Private Equity and related topics, organizes events bringing together academics and professionals, and offers advanced coursework to ESSEC students. The Chair is supported by Barclays Private Equity, Grant Thornton and Linklaters.

Harvard Business School

Josh Lerner is the Jacob H. Schiff Professor of Investment Banking at Harvard Business School, with a joint appointment in the Finance and the Entrepreneurial Management Units. He is a top private equity scholar who has a personal home page with much private equity information. In recent years, “Venture Capital and Private Equity” has consistently been one of the largest elective courses at Harvard Business School.

INSEAD - Global Private Equity Initiative (GPEI)

GPEI was launched in August 2009 by INSEAD to combine the energies and talents of the school's research and educational capabilities with INSEAD alumni and global professionals in the PE industry. With a global mandate GPEI focuses its research on Emerging Markets and the needs of LPs.

AVCA

The African Venture Capital Association is a not-for-profit entity founded to promote, develop and stimulate private equity and venture capital in Africa.

BVCA

The British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association is the industry body for the UK private equity and venture capital industry.

Hedge Funds Care

Hedge Funds Care is an alternative investment industry-supported charity that raises money for the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Hedge Funds Care is active in 11 cities worldwide and has distributed over $19 million and more than 500 grants to community-based nonprofit organizations that work to alleviate child abuse.

LPEQ

LPEQ comprises some of the best-known UK and continental European listed private equity firms, working to increase awareness and broaden understanding of the listed private equity sector across Europe.

The Private Equity Council

The Private Equity Council, based in Washington D.C., is an advocacy, communications and research organization established to disseminate information about the private equity industry and its contributions to the economy.
