Tozaro

Founded in 2015 and based in Leicester, UK, Tozaro Limited formerly known as MIP Discovery Limited operates as a provider of molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) for diagnostic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other research industries. In February 2024, Tozaro Limited raised GBP 6. 4 million in Series A funding led by Mercia Ventures, with participation from Calculus Capital. MIP Discovery develops and manufactures viral vectors for cell and gene therapy by creating synthetic affinity reagents.

These reagents are designed for detection, capture, and purification of challenging target molecules, including endotoxins, residual PEI, lentivirus, and AAV capsids. The technology has applications in ELISA, BLI, magnetic resins, and chromatography and helps improve viral vector titration, affinity purification, and safety and quality control testing in the cell and gene therapy space. The company intends to use the February 2024 funding to commercialize its novel synthetic affinity reagents and hire new in-house cell and gene therapy experts.
