Based in Germany, and founded in 2014, Roviant Sciences Ltd. develops and completes late-stage drugs for treatments and also operates as a holding company of spinoffs focused on research and development of drugs. Vivek Ramaswamy is the founder and chairman of the company. Roivant has over 800 employees and Matthew Gline is its CEO as of 2021.

In May 2021, Roivant Sciences, Inc. agreed to merge with Montes Archimedes Acquisition Corp. , a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). The transaction was valued at USD 411 million in cash and was completed in October 2021.

In October 2021, it became a publicly listed company and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker symbols "ROIV" and “ROIVW”. The company creates transformative medicines through the Roivant platform to launch ‘Vants’ which are nimble and focused on biopharmaceutical and health technology companies. The vants include Immunovant, Dermavant, Datavant, Aruvant, Genevant, Silicon Therapeutics, Cytovant, Sinovant, Alyvant, Lokavant, and Vantai. The company also conducts computational drug discovery through its combination of computational physics and machine learning-based platforms for the in silico design of small molecules.

The company plans to design other types of novel small molecule drugs against difficult targets, such as allosteric inhibitors, molecular glues, and high-affinity ligands with help of its newly acquired company Silicon Therapeutics in February 2021.
