Based in Beijing, China and founded in 2025, Beijing Octopus Dynamics Technology Co. , Ltd. , doing business as SynapX, was established to pursue physical AGI through embodied intelligence by a team of AI experts, including co-founder Du Dalong, a former core member of Horizon Robotics. In June 2026, SynapX raised CNY 50 million in venture funding co-led by Jinqiu Capital, Xinlian Capital, Huangpu River Capital, with participation from JIF Capital, Houxue Capital, Panga Capital, HK Top Talent Venture Capital Fund, Linear Capital and other investors.

The company develops the SYNTH deep-thinking architecture, a technical foundation for robots to achieve generalized operational intelligence through world models and multi-scale strategy models. Its technology includes the SYNTH architecture for operational intelligence and the OPDS omni‑modal physical data system, enabling large‑scale collection and utilization of visual, force, and tactile physical signals to support model training, task execution and system evolution. The company generates revenue through the licensing of embodied AI software. The company will accelerate the research and development of the world's basic model and the "hand-brain integrated" platform, and will release the basic model and launch core products in the second half of 2026.
