Founded in 1997, and based in Timelkam, Austria, e-tec electronic GmbH, formerly known as Ecotec Computer Data World GmbH, operates as a retailer of electronics goods and equipment. In 2000, e-tec electronic GmbH became the first online shop for IT products and in 2014, the company acquired domain rights and all assets of the brand DiTech GmbH, for EUR 1. 4 million. In May 2018, INVEST AG and Raiffeisen KMU Beteiligungs AG acquired 55% stake in the firm.
Bert Kuhn, the company's founder, and managing directors Franz X. Astegger, and Marco Krankl holds the remaining shares. As of 2021, the firm has around 15 retail shops across major locations in Austria. e-tec electronic GmbH sells products such as computers, laptops and EDP, TV, cameras, printers, PC accessories, gaming peripherals, hardware, smartphones, projectors, household appliances, gardening tools and accessories, lights, and lamps, etc.
As of 2021, the company has listed around 45000 products in its online shop. The customers can either buy a product through the company's e-commerce platform or use the Click and Collect option, which allows users to shop online and pick up the product from the company retail shops around Austria. e-tec electronic GmbH extends its service by offering door delivery of products to its customers. The company even provides financial assistance by partnering with Consors Finanz, which enables customers to purchase products on a monthly installment basis.
